Product information
Galvanized steel flat bar – S235JR (1.0038) according to EN 10025 / DIN EN ISO 1461
This hot-dip galvanized steel flat bar is a hot-rolled flat section made of non-alloy structural steel S235JR (1.0038), manufactured in accordance with EN 10025. After the hot rolling process, the flat bars are hot-dip galvanized in accordance with DIN EN ISO 1461, providing a durable metallic zinc coating for long-term corrosion protection. The hot rolling process ensures a uniform material structure and characteristic mechanical properties.
Main features
- Material: S235JR (1.0038) according to EN 10025
- Profile standard: hot-rolled flat steel according to EN 10025
- Manufacturing: hot-rolled non-alloy structural steel
- Profile shape: flat bar / flat section
- Surface: internally and externally hot-dip galvanized according to DIN EN ISO 1461
Note: Typical surface characteristics may occur due to the hot rolling and galvanizing process, including residual mill scale, zinc runs, zinc accumulations, ash residues or slight colour variations. These are process-related and do not constitute a defect provided applicable standards are met. Saw-cut edges are untreated and not deburred; cut surfaces may remain uncoated and should be protected against corrosion if required. A suitable zinc repair spray is also available directly from us: Zinc spray 400 ml – repair and corrosion protection spray.
Material properties:
- high dimensional stability due to hot rolling
- typical mechanical strength properties
- good weldability prior to galvanizing
- suitable for load-bearing and non-load-bearing constructions
Technical specifications
- Material: S235JR (1.0038)
- Standard: EN 10025
- Coating: hot-dip galvanized according to DIN EN ISO 1461

Dimensional, shape and weight tolerances correspond to common tolerances for hot-rolled flat steel according to EN 10025. Slight dimensional deviations within permissible tolerances may occur due to the galvanizing process. The zinc coating provides long-term corrosion protection for indoor and outdoor applications.
Applications
- steel and metal constructions
- reinforcements and connection elements
- mechanical and plant engineering
- general construction and installation applications
Delivery is made as hot-rolled and hot-dip galvanized flat steel according to EN 10025 and DIN EN ISO 1461. Manufacturing-related deviations within permissible tolerances are possible.
