Product information
Stainless steel chequer / tread plate 3 mm – V2A 1.4301 AISI 304 hot rolled
The 3 mm V2A 1.4301 (AISI 304) stainless steel tread plate is a robust patterned sheet with a raised tear-shaped pattern. Compared with smooth stainless steel sheet, the profiled surface provides increased grip and is particularly suitable for walking surfaces, floor plates, covers and robust constructions in indoor and protected outdoor areas.
With a 3 mm base sheet thickness, this version provides high inherent rigidity and is particularly suitable for applications requiring both the characteristic tread pattern and a robust, dimensionally stable sheet construction. The stainless steel sheet is individually cut to size.

Applications for 3 mm stainless steel tread plate
The 3 mm version is particularly suitable for robust walking surfaces, flooring and cover plates. The combination of a stable base sheet and patterned surface makes the stainless steel tread plate suitable for both functional and technically decorative applications.
- walking surfaces and floor plates
- stair treads and platforms
- machine and plant construction
- work and access areas
- covers and protective plates
- vehicle and trailer construction
- workshop and industrial equipment
- metal construction and custom fabrications
Information on the chequer / tread surface
The stainless steel sheet has a technically manufactured, hot-rolled surface with a raised tread pattern. Production-related variations in appearance as well as rolling, storage, handling and transport marks may occur. Such characteristics cannot be completely excluded on a hot-rolled tread plate intended for technical applications.
The patterned surface provides increased grip compared with smooth stainless steel sheet. However, a specific slip-resistance classification is not automatically guaranteed. If a defined slip-resistance or R rating is required for the intended application, this must be separately verified or agreed for the specific use.
Information on material thickness and cutting
The specified 3 mm material thickness refers to the base sheet thickness. Due to the raised tread pattern, the actual overall height of the sheet is greater. The total pattern height should therefore be considered in constructions with limited installation height.
Sawn or cut-to-size edges are unfinished and not deburred. Cut edges may therefore be sharp and should be finished as required for the intended application.
