Order stainless steel profiles cut to size online

With stainless steel profiles cut to size you can plan precisely fitting components for metal fabrication, trades, mechanical engineering and private projects. Select the profile shape you need at METALXACT: from stainless steel tubing to round stock and flat bars through to angle profiles. Then select the available dimensions, cut length and quantity on the respective product page.

Whether you need a single piece of stainless steel cut to size for the workshop or several profiles for a production run: cross-section, material grade and surface finish are decisive. The product pages guide you to the available versions and the corresponding price. You can find other materials in the parent category Metal profiles cut to size.

Which profile shape suits your project?

Choose the geometry first, then the appropriate size. For tubes, the outside dimensions and wall thickness determine the cross-section; for solid material, the diameter, width or width across flats are decisive. The following links take you directly to the stainless steel categories.

Match the material grade, surface finish and application correctly

The term “stainless steel” alone is not sufficient for a technical selection. Compare the material number and the properties of the specific item. The range includes, for example, the V2A grades 1.4301 and 1.4305. They are not interchangeable for every machining or fabrication process: in particular, check the information on weldability and machinability if you intend to process the material further.

The surface finish plays an important role for visible components. Depending on the product, bright, unground or ground versions such as K240 stainless steel are available. For matching parts, also coordinate the grinding pattern and surface condition. For a coloured finish, check the available options for powder coating stainless steel profiles.

Stainless steel can be corrosion-resistant and durable, but it is not unaffected by every environment. Moisture, chlorides, contamination and processing affect its resistance. For demanding outdoor applications, the specific stainless steel grade should therefore suit the environment. Cleaning and care should also be included in the planning.

How to order your stainless steel cut to size online

  1. Open the profile category: Choose, for example, round tube, square tube, flat bar or stainless steel angle.
  2. Compare versions: Check the material grade, cross-section, wall thickness or material thickness, and surface finish.
  3. Configure the cut: Specify the available length and quantity. Select additional machining or a coating if these are available for the item.
  4. Check the order: Check the configuration, product price and delivery details. Shipping costs are shown during checkout.

Before ordering, take into account the required connection dimensions and the Length and diameter tolerances. For several components, a cutting list with the profile shape, dimensions, length and quantity for each item is recommended. This makes it easier to distinguish between similar versions when ordering.

From stainless steel profile to the right component

Depending on the design, tube profiles, solid material and angles may be suitable for frames, furniture frames and brackets. If your project includes a handrail or railing, you will find further products to complete your selection under Railings and accessories. The dimensions of profiles, connectors and fixings must match.

If you need a flat cover, the stainless steel sheets in the table are the right starting point. For a U-, Z- or cover profile bent from sheet metal, choose Custom sheet metal bends and folded parts. The visual configurator supports shape selection and previews there; you configure tubes and bars directly on the product page.

Design a folded part in 2D and 3D

For additional machining that cannot be selected on the product page, use the Contract manufacturing and metalworking section. A drawing or dimensioned sketch specifying the material grade and quantity helps describe the requirements for the individual stainless steel component.

Frequently asked questions about stainless steel profiles cut to size

Which stainless steel profiles can I order cut to size?

The selection includes round tubes, square tubes, rectangular tubes, angle profiles, flat bars, round bars, square bars, hexagonal bars and grooved tubes, among other options. For flat components, you will also find stainless steel sheets and plates. The respective item shows which cut lengths and versions can be ordered.

Where can I order a single stainless steel bar or a short piece of tubing?

Open the appropriate product page and check the lengths offered and the selectable quantity. This allows you to specify stainless steel cut to size for repairs, furniture making or a DIY project. Minimum quantities and any length limits depend on the product.

Which dimensions do I need for a stainless steel tube?

For a round tube, you need the outside diameter, wall thickness and length. For square tubes and rectangular tubes, the outside dimensions, wall thickness and length are decisive. Before ordering, check these details against fittings, tube end plugs and fixings.

What is the difference between a square bar and a square tube?

A square bar has a solid square cross-section. A square tube is hollow inside and is specified by its outside dimensions and wall thickness. The appropriate version depends on the design, weight and loading; structural suitability cannot be determined from the profile shape alone.

What do V2A and V4A mean for stainless steel profiles?

V2A and V4A are common collective designations, not unique material numbers. The specific stainless steel grade stated for the item is decisive for selection and ordering. Check the material number, properties and availability for the desired profile shape there.

Are stainless steel profiles always rust-free and suitable for outdoor use?

Stainless steel is not corrosion-free under all conditions. Its resistance depends on factors including the material grade, surface finish, processing and environment. For outdoor areas exposed to road salt, coastal conditions or other increased stresses, the material selection should be matched to the application before ordering.

Can I buy stainless steel profiles with a ground finish or powder coating?

Depending on the item, bright, unground or ground versions are available, for example with a K240 ground finish. For suitable profiles, you can also select powder coating. Check the surface finishes, colours and any surcharges directly on the product page.

Where can I see the price, delivery time and cutting tolerances?

Check the product price after selecting the available dimensions, length, surface finish and quantity on the product page. Also note the delivery details there and the shipping costs during checkout. You can find additional information under Length and diameter tolerances.

Can I design stainless steel tubes in the visual 2D/3D configurator?

You configure stainless steel tubes and bars directly on the respective product page. The visual 2D/3D configurator is intended for folded parts and sheet metal bends. There you can check the shapes and material grades offered for a component bent from sheet metal.

How do I enquire about additional holes or manufacture to a drawing?

First use the machining options offered on the product page. For requirements that cannot be selected there, you can find the appropriate enquiry route in the Metalworking and contract manufacturing section. Specify the profile shape, material grade, dimensions, quantity and required machining.

Select the right stainless steel profile and check the cut

Start with the profile shape and compare the product data with the dimensions you need. Whether stainless steel tubing, flat stock or an angle profile: on the respective product page, check the available version, your cut length and the price before ordering.
