About brass rods

Brass rods are solid metal profiles made from a copper-zinc alloy and are one of the most popular semi-finished products in metal construction, precision and machine processing as well as in design and interior fittings. Thanks to their combination of high strength, good machinability and attractive appearance, brass round rods are suitable for technical applications as well as for decorative or visible components.

Available dimensions & configuration

At Metalxact, you can obtain brass round rods with outer diameters from 3 mm to 300 mm, which you can easily configure to measure. The range extends from slim diameters for precise, filigree applications to solid round rods for load-bearing constructions. Thanks to flexible cutting options, you can order exactly the length you need for your project and minimise material waste

Advantages of brass

  • High corrosion resistance to moisture, air and many media
  • Very good machinability (sawing, turning, drilling, milling)
  • Good thermal and electrical conductivity
  • High strength combined with good workability
  • Attractive, golden appearance for visible and decorative applications
  • Versatile use in technology, industry and design

Technical information on the brass material

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc and can contain other elements that improve the mechanical properties or corrosion resistance, for example. The common alloy CuZn39Pb3 (also Ms58) offers particularly good machinability and is often used in the production of moulded and turned parts
Our brass rods can be easily machined, sawn, turned, drilled or turned, allowing a wide variety of components to be realised. Thanks to the existing material properties, they are also suitable for precise machine parts, connections or fastening elements

Typical areas of application for our brass rods

The brass round rods from Metalxact are used in many areas, for example

  • Mechanical and plant engineering
  • Sanitary and connection technology
  • Fittings, moulded parts and precision elements
  • Architectural fittings and handrails
  • Electrical components and connections
  • Jewellery and decorative elements

The combination of technical performance and attractive surface makes brass a versatile metal profile

Customised service & cutting

Order your brass rods conveniently online and configure the length, diameter and, if required, additional processing directly in the shop. The customised cuts are manufactured precisely according to your specifications and offer you a high degree of flexibility in further processing - both for professional use and for private projects.

Frequently asked questions about the brass rod

Is a brass rod suitable for outdoor use?

The brass rods are highly resistant to weathering and moisture. In outdoor areas, a natural patina can form over time, which does not impair their function.

Can a brass rod be soldered or welded?

The material is easy to soft solder and hard solder. Welding is generally possible, but requires experience and suitable filler materials, as brass contains zinc.

Is brass electrically conductive?

Yes, brass has good electrical conductivity and is therefore often used for electrical contacts, connections and technical components.
