Product information

The aluminium T-profile made of EN AW-6060 (AlMgSi0,5) is supplied with a powder-coated surface.

Technical characteristics:

  • Material: AlMgSi0,5
  • Material number: EN AW-6060
  • Surface: powder-coated
  • Coating thickness: approx. 60–80 µm
  • Delivery condition: T66 (solution heat-treated + artificially aged)
  • Manufacturing process: extruded
  • Standards: EN 573-3, EN 755-1 / -2 / -9

Surface characteristics:

  • uniformly applied coating with closed surface structure
  • Gloss level glossy: approx. 80–95 GE
  • Gloss level matt: approx. 20–30 GE
  • coating of the outer profile surfaces as well as the accessible transition areas of the web

Material properties:

  • low material density
  • very good corrosion resistance
  • homogeneous surface quality
  • precise profile geometry due to extrusion process
  • good machinability
  • non-magnetisable
  • suitable for welding and soldering
  • food-safe according to EN 602

Note: At the ends of the powder-coated T-profiles, suspension holes of approx. 5 mm may be present due to the production process. These serve for fixation during the coating process and are generally located approx. 15 mm from the respective ends. The drill holes are untreated and not deburred. Due to the required suspension hooks, uniform coating in this area cannot be fully guaranteed for technical reasons. This also applies to the end faces of the profiles. Depending on production conditions, the hole may be present on one side, both sides or may be completely omitted; this is determined solely by the respective production process.

For precision applications, an allowance of approx. 50–80 mm should be planned if the entire length is to be used without suspension holes. The required trimming to remove the holes after powder coating is not carried out by us and must be performed by the customer.

Longer and thin-walled components may deform due to their own weight and heat exposure during the coating process. This does not constitute bending in the sense of structural impairment, but rather a deviation from straightness. The components remain functional and fully usable.

Due to the powder coating, the layer is applied on both sides. This may slightly increase all external dimensions. The coating thickness is approx. 0.06–0.08 mm per side.

The sawn end faces are not coated, untreated and not deburred.

Variations in colour tone or surface appearance compared to the product images may occur due to batch differences and may vary depending on display settings.
